Trauma shows up everywhere in our world currently, and the veterinary medical workplace is no exception. In honour of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Annual Mental Health in the workplace week, join Dr. Leann Benedetti as she shares her own career journey through a trauma lens. In this webinar we explore trauma as a concept, one that has potentially insidious and far-reaching impact on our quality of life as veterinary professionals.
Merck Animal Health and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) are hosting a webinar on “It’s Time to talk about Trauma in Veterinary Medicine: Build awareness, Create connection, and Inspire hope.”
In recognition of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Annual Mental Health in the Workplace Week and in support of the Time to Talk about Mental Health in Vet Med awareness campaign, this webinar is available to all veterinarians, student veterinarians, RVTs, student RVTs, and all veterinary workplace staff. The webinar will be recorded and available for viewing.

Note: The concept of trauma is discussed in this webinar which may bring up difficult emotions and trigger challenging experiences for some people. No specific traumatic event will be discussed. Leann Benedetti, DVM Dr. Leann Benedetti provides innovative wellness solutions for the Human Beings of Veterinary medicine as ‘The Veterinary Coach’, which she founded in 2017. As a past practice owner and veterinarian with 27 years of clinical experience, her goal is to support the emotional and mental health of individuals, teams, and organisations; as well as build resilient, agile, positive, psychologically safe veterinary culture. Dr. Benedetti is an ICF Certified Professional Coach, Certified Compassion Fatigue Practitioner, Mentor, Safe Circle Facilitator, Public Speaker, and most recently completed her training as a certified Trauma Informed Coach. Leann is a member of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) Wellness Advisory Group, a Peer Advisor for the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, and a passionate advocate for veterinary well-being and whole-hearted living.
