Crafting a Safety Plan to Prevent Suicide
Suicide is a leading cause of death in Canada and for every one suicide death 7 to 10 people's lives are forever changed from the loss. Suicide is preventable and talking about it saves lives.
This webinar features Robert Olson, from the Centre for Suicide Prevention, who will explain how to use the Centre's Suicide Safety Plan toolkit. The toolkit is designed to help laypeople learn how to have a safety conversation with a suicidal person and co-create a safety plan together.
We will also hear from suicide attempt survivors as traditionally they have been left out of suicide prevention conversations and hearing their stories helps offer hope for those at risk and give them reasons to go on living.
