CHANGE FOR 2024: All ads MUST include the salary or salary range, either hourly or annually, in the body of the ad. Salary ranges must be specific and must not use phrases like “and up.”
Section 2 of BC’s Pay Transparency Act requires that salary or wage information must be included on all publicly advertised job postings. This requirement comes into effect on November 1, 2023, and applies to all employers in BC and also applies to third-party ad postings like ours at the SBCV. Employers do not need to include bonus pay, overtime pay, commissions, tips, or benefits on job postings. The expected wage or salary or expected range of the wage or salary must be included within the job posting. If stating a wage or salary range on publicly advertised job postings, employers must not include an unspecified minimum or maximum amount. Rates are determined by the number of characters in the ad, (150 characters is approximately 25 words) and the full rate of insertion will be calculated automatically for you. Your ad will be active for one, two, or three months, as selected, and if not renewed, will be removed upon expiry.
Please note that the contact information, such as name, address, phone, fax, and email is not calculated in the character count, so you do not pay for this information. Please do not use abbreviations. Ad content is displayed exactly as provided, so please check for accuracy and completeness.
Payment by Visa or Mastercard is required before an advertisement is posted online. Ads will be posted within two business days of confirmation of payment, and will be listed online for one, two or three months, as selected, from the date of posting. Ads are only posted Monday to Friday before noon.
The full rate for your ad will be charged even if the advertisement is cancelled prior to the expiration date.
You are responsible to renew your ad, if desired (without changes) by calling the office and providing your credit card. If your ad expires or you want any changes, you are responsible for placing and paying for a new ad.
