Dawson Creek Veterinary Clinic is looking for a mixed animal or a small animal veterinarian to join our team. We are a mixed animal practice with 9 veterinarians and a wonderful team of skilled and caring techs and support staff and a great practice culture. Our practice is growing and we are in the process of completing a new large animal facility. We currently have 2 vets on maternity leave which is why we are looking to add another member to our team – if we add somebody now then we will have the capacity for our clinic to continue to grow when they come back from maternity leave. This new large animal facility will have a bovine ward, 2 equine exam areas, an equine surgery area, isolation room and several hospitalization stalls. The large animal part of the practice is primarily cow – calf and equine. The small animal part of the clinic was built 10 years ago and is very well equipped as well. Our practice is privately owned, modern and well equipped. We have an excellent team which includes 6 other veterinarians with very low turnover. Our vets work a maximum of 4 days per week and are paid on a salary basis, not by commission. We are currently open Monday to Saturday, but are in the process of switching to being a Monday to Friday practice. We also have a full roster of skilled RVTs, again with very low turnover, allowing 1 to 2 RVT per vet per day staff scheduling. Additionally, we have very knowledgeable receptionists, administrative, and other support staff.

Our clinic is located in Kamloops, in the beautiful South Central area of British Columbia. The area abounds with skiing, golfing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing and many other outdoor activities. Kamloops is a small city of just over 100,000 people, with ample schools, shopping, theatre, arts, and cultural activities. Kamloops also has a newly built 24 hour veterinary, emergency hospital which means you would not be required to do any emergency call.

We offer a very competitive wage, flexible part-time or full-time shifts, and a solid benefits package. We are very flexible with shift scheduling for vets with small children or other family obligations. Wage is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually and would be based on work schedule decided upon.
