Rabbit Housing: Together or Not

As rabbits mature, they can become quite quarrelsome, and in some cases, serious fighting may ensue. It is generally recommended to house them apart after three to four months of age, though in situations where they have been raised together, rabbits do sometimes tolerate housing with a close buddy.
If the rabbits are left together, it is important to monitor them so that if fighting begins, they can be separated promptly.
Not all veterinarians treat rabbits. Find a facility in your area that accepts patients of this species, and once you do, this veterinary health care team will be an excellent source of information about housing, feeding, and preventive health care. Many veterinary hospitals also have a small library of books, including husbandry guides that may be loaned to clients.
