Webinar: Time to Talk About Our Mental Health At Work

Merck Animal Health and the CVMA are hosting a panel discussion webinar on “A Community Approach to Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Promotion in Veterinary Workplaces”.
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Kathy Keil, Chair of the CVMA Wellness Advisory Group and speakers will include:
Philip Richmond, DVM, CAPP, CPPC, CCFP
Dr. Richmond is the Chief Medical & Wellbeing Officer for Veterinary United and also the Founder of Flourishing Phoenix Veterinary Consultants. He is passionate about positive culture, psychological health, safety, and wellbeing in veterinary workplaces. He works toward implementing tools and policy for thriving and flourishing into the profession, especially at critical education and career points.
Reza Hejazi, DVM
Dr. Hejazi is a Veterinary Program Specialist with the Canadian federal government and a part-time small animal practitioner. He is a certified mental health first aid instructor (MHFA) with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, trained MBSR Facilitator with the Center for Mindfulness Studies and an Emergency Medical responder with Alberta College of Paramedics.
An instructor from the Canadian Centre for Suicide Prevention trained to facilitate SafeTALK suicide prevention and ASIST suicide intervention will also join the discussion.
In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 and in support of the Time to Talk about Mental Health in Vet Med awareness campaign, this panel discussion is available to all veterinarians, student veterinarians, RVTs, student RVTs, and all veterinary workplace staff. The webinar will be recorded and available for viewing. A mental health expert will be available as a safety support resource for one-on-one text or chat during the webinar.
