What is the Emerging Leaders Program?
The CVMA Emerging Leaders Program is one of CVMA’s signature events offering in-person and virtual workshops to those looking to identify and develop leadership skills among Canadian veterinarians, technicians and technologists while building a leadership network within the veterinary profession.

Rob has worked in sales and business development for over 20 years pioneering a direct and highly effective approach that delivers groundbreaking results for his clients. He has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands in Ireland, Europe, Canada and the US. Attending the Emerging Leaders Workshop will provide you with the foundation leadership skills that will not only serve you now but long into your career. The in-person workshop and subsequent support workshops have been tailor made to address the key challenges veterinary leaders face and to equip you with the tools and confidence to use them.
This in-person workshop is energizing, positive, encouraging, and practical - you will get to work with like-minded individuals that share your values whilst also being able to talk about the real issues you face every day. The whole experience aims to be uplifting and useful.
LEADERSHIP OUTREACH
We have all attended workshops, grabbed our inspiration but then had to go ‘back to reality’ and try and implement the things we learned on our own. These two virtual outreach workshops being offered aim to support you after your attendance at the in-person workshop to ensure that sense of community isn’t lost along the way. Join the group to talk about your wins and challenges and ask questions about any issue you are facing.

Approved sponsored participants will receive:
- Travel to and from Calgary, Alberta
- Two nights’ accommodation at the The Hyatt Regency Hotel, Calgary
- Eight-hour in person workshop presented by Rob Marr at the The Hyatt Regency Hotel, Calgary
- Complimentary registration for the 2024 CVMA Convention (value $795)
- Up to two sponsored participants per province will be selected
