CVMA Mentorship Pilot Program

The Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) is excited to recruit a diverse group of members to participate in the first-year pilot of our enhanced bilingual member mentorship program – Leading Edge for Veterinarians.
This unique initiative, offered via the Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business, will support and connect early and mid-career veterinarians across Canada. More than 1,600 participants from 27 countries have graduated from this evidence-based RACE approved mentorship program which has been developed by veterinarians for veterinarians.
Clinical trials validate an improvement in resilience to stressors, professional fulfillment, career sustainability, workplace relationships, workplace culture, leadership skills, clinical outcomes, and business outcomes upon completion of the program. Connect with peers in an online community guided by experienced veterinary mentors and coaches, offering advice on topics from wellness to business support.
We Invite CVMA Members, Including Students, to Apply for this Pilot
Are you an early-career veterinarian (one to three years post-graduation), mid-career professional (four to 10 years post-graduation), or transitioning into a new career path? We want you to apply!
We’re seeking diverse voices from across the profession—whether you work in urban or rural settings, private or corporate practices, or specialize in areas such as companion animal, mixed animal, specialty, industry, or government.
We warmly invite and strongly encourage applications from individuals belonging to equity-deserving groups. These may include, but are not limited to:
- BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color)
- Individuals with disabilities
- LGBTQ2S+ individuals
- Internationally trained veterinarians
- and individuals who identify as neurodivergent (whether formally diagnosed or self-identified).
We value belonging and are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment where all voices are heard and respected.
The CVMA will provide 55 veterinarians and student veterinarians with access to our first-year pilot program for free (valued at approx. $600 USD). Selected participants will receive one year of access to these RACE-approved modules and professional coaching starting on April 1, 2025.

Those selected to participate must accept and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions:
- Engage in the pilot program up to three hours a month over 12 months.
- Attend at least six Deep Dive webinars (evenings).
- Complete pre-training and post-training surveys and questionnaires.
- Provide written and/or video feedback about your experience.
- Sign a Memorandum of Understanding and pay a nominal fee which will be reimbursed upon completion of the 12-month pilot program.
