Alberta Government Invests in UCVM Diagnostics

The Alberta government has made a $9 million investment over three years to University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) to support its Diagnostic Services Unit (DSU).
The DSU is the only lab providing routine in-province livestock diagnostics. This investment supports the unit’s current services and its expansion to a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory, allowing its skilled team to continue to protect animal and human health against diseases and safeguarding food security and economic stability.
