The CVMA Humane Award, instituted in 1986, consists of a $1,000 cash award and a plaque. It was established by the CVMA, and is sponsored by Intervet Schering-Plough Animal Health, to encourage implications in the care and well-being of animals. This award is presented to an individual, veterinarian or non-veterinarian, whose work is judged to have contributed significantly to the welfare and well-being of animals.
