Question 1: If I decide to take a sabbatical year or go on maternity leave and not pay membership for that year, can I renew the next year?

Yes, you may renew your membership for the next year.

Question 2: I am a member, and I am receiving the Canadian Veterinary Journal. Can I ask that my copy be sent to another individual, perhaps out of the country?

The CVJ is sent only to CVMA members, and will be sent to the address listed for you on our database.

Question 3: What if I join the CVMA in mid-year?

If you are joining after May 1st, we will pro-rate your membership fee to half. Otherwise, there is no pro-rating of CVMA membership fees.

Question 4: Why do I need a CVMA I.D. number and how do I obtain one?

The CVMA I.D. is a unique number assigned to veterinarians and veterinary students and allows you to access sections of the CVMA Web site that are restricted to veterinarians and veterinary students. You can obtain your CVMA I.D. by contacting the CVMA Membership Services at (800) 567-2862.
