The specific mandate of the Committee is as follows:
To recommend for adoption by CVMA, statements on behalf of the veterinary profession on the humane treatment, welfare and well-being of animals.
To share this concern of animals with all members of the profession, with the general public, with government at all levels and with other organizations such as the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies which have similar concerns.
To advise the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association on matters of concern, relative to animal welfare, both to the profession and to the general public, defining these concerns and proposing solutions to them.
