New Brunswick Introduces New Animal Protection Regulations

On June 1, 2010, New Brunswick introduced new animal protection regulations for kennels, shelters and pet stores. Under the new regulations, New Brunswick kennels will be required to adhere to the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association's Code of Practice for Canadian Kennel Operations. The CVMA Code of Practice for the care, management and breeding of dogs can be used as an educational tool by dog breeders, members of the general public acquiring dogs, animal welfare groups, and as a standard by those interested in the promotion of quality care, management and welfare practices.
